VietNamNet Bridge – The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thua Thien – Hue province on December 14 handed over a document of the Le Dynasty (1428-1527) about Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands to the Foreign Ministry.
 |
| The ancient document. |
In this ancient document, which was written on giay do (do
paper), a mandarin named Thuan Duc, who responsible for guarding the
Bien Hai river mouth (in Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province at
present) made this document to solve a lawsuit between the two wards of
An Bang (in Phu Vang district now) and My Toan (in Phu Loc district).
The document has a seal and a signature.

|
A
representative of My Loi village signed a document about its handing
over of the ancient document to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
|
In this
document, the mandarin mentioned the Hoang Sa fleet. This is evidence
that in the Le Dynasty, Vietnam had a fleet, which managed and explored
aquatic products in the Hoang Sa Islands.
This is the third ancient document to be discovered in Thua Thien – Hue province which proves Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa Islands.
